AWANA is is the leading ministry to help local churches reach children with the gospel and train them to know, love, and serve Christ. AWANA blends Bible teaching, Scripture memorization and tons of fun. Powell Valley Covenant Church Awana Ministry will impact kids 3 to 6th Grade along with their families and entire communities while helping our church instruct parents, train volunteers and make our children's ministry and youth ministry all that God intends them to be! Nearly 12,000 U.S. churches and more than 4,000 churches overseas run the AWANA program, and the list is growing.
Powell Valley offers the AWANA program on Tuesdays @ 6:30 - 8:00 PM and is open to children 3 years (as of 9/1/07 & toilet trained) to 6th grade (07/08 school year).
Awana does not meet during summer months. All Awana children are invited to attend Cactus Canyon Vacation Bible School in July.

Children age Newborn to 5th Grade are warmly invited to attend classes on Sunday mornings as follows:
Newborn & Toddlers = Infants & Toddlers (still in diapers or pull-ups)
10:00 AM Check-in with Teachers in downstairs Nursery
Caterpillars & Butterflies = 3 Years (& toilet trained) thru Kindergarten
Lady Bugs, Beetle Boys & Roaring Lions = 1st to 5th Grade
10:00 AM Children remain with parents during worship service until dismissed to attend class.
Children will learn what Jesus teaches through Bible based, age-appropriate curriculum. There will be fun crafts, uplifting music, great snacks and exciting games! There is no charge to attend. In order to comply with our "Child Safety" policies, we ask each family to register their children on annual enrollment forms which are available on the table in the church foyer.
